Who We Are
After successful careers, we started a vacation rental business. |
Sharon and Joop de Korte
We started vacation rentals by renting out an extra bedroom in our then NYC apartment. We had a great time meeting people from all over the world. Since we had fallen in love with being in the Hamptons, we decided that after our positive experience renting out our extra room, we would expand to a rental property. In the winter of 2014 we bought Swan Point. Soon after Sharon’s dad decided to help us grow the business and we bought our Shinnecock Overlook property. After a few years having vacation houses in the Hamptons, we decided to get a house in France near where Joop used to live in Basque Country. We love creating the spaces for people to relax, refresh and reconnect with themselves, their family and friends. We have both traveled extensively around the world and we understand how welcome it is to have the comforts of home when away. We always have someone close by , should you need assistance in any way. Joop, who is originally from Holland and has also lived in France and the UK, speaks fluent French, German, Dutch. Sharon grew up on Long Island and has lived in the NY metro area most of her life. |
What we love about the area |
THE HAMPTONS
Our vacation rental is in East Quogue, a small hamlet part of Southampton. It is a hidden gem of the Hamptons - close to the city, near beaches, upscale and discount shopping, restaurants, farmers markets without the long drive and traffic. We are uniquely situated for easy access to both the South Fork and North Fork, as well as being closer to New York City than most any other part of the Hamptons. Of course there are plenty of ocean and bay beaches just a few minutes away as well ready for you to enjoy. There are lots of possibilities! Whatever it is you seek, you will be able to find it here. Our house about 90 minute drive from the city. OrYou can take LIRR train or the Hampton Jitney bus. |
ESPELETTE
We chose Espelette since it is about 25 minutes from the world famous beaches of Biarritz and St. Jean de Luz and 10 minutes from Spain and its lower priced shopping, and only 40 minutes from San Sebastian (a must see location with very popular tapas bars, and world famous restaurants). It also helps that we have family nearby and Joop is fluent in French. The nearest airports: - Biarritz 25 minutes - Pau 1 hour - San Sebastian 45 minutes - Bilboa and Bordeaux 2 hours The TGV train from Paris stops at Biarritz. We recommend a car to explore the area. |
